Cheerio

Hallie's been really funny about what she'll eat lately. Last night I tried giving her pasta soup (which she used to like) but it was a no go. So I put another bowl on the tray; pork'n beans (she used to like these as well). I think she took one bite. Fine, Cheerios for the 3rd meal in a row. She happily began to eat, and at some point when I wasn't looking she stacked the bowls so her cereal was on top! At least she's addicted to Cheerios & Raisin Bran, not Froot Loops & Lucky Charms.

HOORAY for green grass and no-coat-weather!

The other day I discovered that our apartment complex has a little fenced in patch of grass. I'm not really sure who was more excited about it, me or Hallie, but we had some fun and look forward to spending more time outside these days!

Most of the shots I got were blurred from Hallie running around so fast.
She did, however, stop long enough at one point to flap her arms and watch while an airplane flew overhead.

I wanted to get a picture at Hallie's level so I got down on the grass and Hallie immediately came running over a sat on me...maybe hoping for a horseback ride? Sorry kid, that's Daddy's job.

Just being cute...it's what Hallie's do best!

It was great fun to explore new things. She even tried tasting the rock she found...it got chucked on the ground about 1 second after the camera flashed. Hallie, apparently, is not partial to rock cuisine...go figure.

Home

During our whirlwind trip home, the many good intentions of picture taking were forgotten, and the only pictures on our camera were of the drive home.

Hallie enjoyed her treats from Aunt Jana, during the drive, and I was very grateful for the entertainment and distraction they provided!

Back to Blogging

We're back! I've given the blog some much needed sprucing up; and, in spite of our lives not being brilliantly exciting, we'll be trying to post more frequent updates so you all know what the Bissetts have been up to.

Chris reading Hallie a bedtime story...I believe it was "Baby Costumes," trying to decide what she will be for Halloween. Actually, she just gets über excited to see babies! Hallie has recently been "reading" books by herself by pointing at things (like we do when reading together) and whispering "tah tah." Grown-up girl all ready for church!

The flower clip made it through the first hour, which I was very impressed with!
Hallie's close-up.

I just really like Hallie's face here.

Hallie has become quite mobile; crawling, pulling up, and though neither of these pictures show it, she's been standing without holding onto anything! She's growing up way too fast and I'm sure we won't be keeping up with her for long!

Hallie Joy: The Musical!

We love music. Hallie seems to be enthralled by it. She very much likes to hum along when I sing lullabies (if she's not too sleepy) and has been exploring the guitar and piano as well. I'm sure as soon as she figures out how to blow into her daddy's recorder instead of just slobber on it, she will master that instrument too!

She's really quite funny to watch as she will stand there picking at all the strings for quite some time, occasionally humming along with whatever she's playing. I'm sure she'll be writing hits before long...
